چکیده

The effects of gibberellic acid (GA3) on growth, physiology and yield of salt-stressed mustard (Brassica juncea L. Czern & Coss) cv. Varuna plants were studied. The stress imposed by 25 or 50 mM NaCl reduced substantially leaf area, dry mass, leaf chlorophyll content, stomatal conductance and net photosynthetic rate 50 days after emergence. At harvest, although other yield components were generally reduced, total seed protein content showed a significant increase. Furthermore, the response was more pronounced at the higher concentration NaCl (50 mM) applied. On the contrary, the application of 10-5 M GA3 appeared to mitigate the adverse effects of salinity stress on the overall performance and productivity of mustard.

کاهش اثرات منفی شوری بر شاخص‌های فیزیولوژیک گواوا (Psidium guajava L.) با استفاده از اسید جیبرلیک

Since gibberellic acid has a critical role in plants tolerance to abiotic stress, therefore in present research the impact of salt water and gibberellic acid treatment on guava seedlings physiological responces were considered. The factorial experiment was carried out as a complete randomized design with four replications. Treatments included sodium chloride (0, 50 and 100 mM) and gibberellic a...

Salinity Tolerance of Kentucky Bluegrass as Affected by Salicylic Acid

Salinity is one of the greatest environmental challenges facing plant growth and development in the 21st century. Salicylic acid (SA) is a phenolic compound and signal molecule involved in the regulation of plants responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. This greenhouse experiment was conducted to determine effects of SA application on Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) responses to salinit...

Investigation Reducing Detrimental Effects of Salt Stress on Morphological and Physiological Traits of (Thymus vulgaris) by Application of Salicylic Acid. Elham Harati1*, Bahareh Kashefi1 and Mohammad Matinizadeh2

Salicylic acid (SA) is a naturally occurring plant hormone that has positive effects on growth and tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses, especially salinity in plants. To evaluate the effects of SA and salt stress on some morphological and physiological traits and quantitative activities of antioxidant enzymes on thyme (Thymus vulgaris), was conducted a factorial pot experiment based on com...

Effects of Exogenous Gibberellic Acid on Yield Components of ‘Askari’ Grape

Abstract The most important commercial use of gibberellin in horticulture is to improve the yield and marketability of table grapes. This experiment was conducted in order to evaluate the effect of different concentrations of gibberellic acid on yield components of five-year-old ʻAskariʼ seedless grapevines, based on a randomized complete block design. Gibberellic acid was sprayed on the folia...

The Roles of Selenium in Protecting Lemon Balm against Salt Stress. Ghader Habibi* and Somaie Sarvary

Plant metabolism and productivity is influenced adversely by salinity. Exogenous selenium (Se), applied as sodium selenate in biofortification programmes, has been found effective in alleviating the salt induced damage in plants. The study was conducted in order to determine the effects of exogenous Se supply (10 μM) on the resistance of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) plants to salt stress...
